Patients that suffer from hooded eyes can often feel like their whole appearance has changed and like they’ve lost their beautiful eyes under the folds of skin. Hooded eyes can age a person beyond their years with the unwanted folds of skin sagging down over the eyes and giving a tired appearance. But, Fibroblast Soft Surgery can help reverse those negative signs of aging and give you your youthful skin back. This treatment is designed to improve skin tone and texture, giving it a brighter, more contoured, and more youthful appearance. This revolutionary treatment can reverse the effects of sagging skin, and in particular, can be used to make a huge difference to skin that has sagged around the eye area.

As we age, sagging skin can form above the eye area creating a hood or ‘overhang’ that can make us lose confidence and feel that we look much older but now we can help to change that with Fibroblast. At one time, to treat this complaint invasive traditional surgery would have been the only option for clients wanting to get rid of the excess skin. However, plasma soft surgery finally provides a safer, quicker, and outstandingly effective alternative. But, why choose Fibroblast over traditional surgery?

A surgical eye lift often known as blepharoplasty involves surgical removal or repositioning of the eyelid tissue using a scalpel to physically cut away the unwanted skin.  To perform a blepharoplasty, your practitioner must be a very experienced plastic surgeon. The procedure can be carried out under general anesthetic (or by using a combination of local anesthetic with sedation.)  Whilst Sedation and local anesthesia are less risky than general anesthesia, it still carries risks with it. Surgical blepharoplasty comes with a host of serious risks, as does any highly invasive surgery. Surgical risks include bleeding, excess swelling, a poor or unaesthetic result, and potentially complicated healing risks. With surgery, there are additional risks of ptosis or drooping of the eyelid and dry eyes. If surgery is just too risky for you, but you still want to get rid of hooded eyelids, then Fibroblast can be a perfect solution.

Advantages of Fibroblast over traditional surgery to remove hooded eyes:

  • It doesn’t carry the risks associated with a general anesthetic
  • With traditional surgery, there can be a risk of blindness
  • It doesn’t cut the delicate eyelid skin
  • With Fibroblast, there are no stitches required
  • It is a very low-risk procedure and has minimal side effects
  • There is less downtime (most patients can return to work the same day after Fibroblast)
  • Quick, easy, and cost-effective when compared to traditional surgery.

Product Description

Plasma soft surgery uses the fourth state of matter: Plasma. The treatment is performed with dots created by the Fibroblast device to sublimate (change from solid to gas) the superficial skin cells on the hood of the eye. Treatment consists of multiple shots spaced closely together across the formation of the ‘hood’. The principle is to ionize gases in the air to create a small electrical arc, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which the hood eyelid area can be treated, without spreading unwanted heat to surrounding areas. Fibroblast won’t cause any bleeding or damage to the surrounding tissue which, in turn, enables the perfect plasticity of the eyelid movement immediately after the treatment meaning you can go back to your normal routine.

The results are immediate. Straight away a reduction of the excess skin on the upper or lower eyelid, as well as the shrinking of the excess skin in the external region around the eye, will be visible. Other benefits of targeting hooded eyelids are also the improvement of the expression lines at the corner of the eye and the cheekbone known as “crow’s feet”. This innovative, revolutionary treatment can help turn back the clock dramatically.

Results

Plasma Soft Surgery has become so popular as the best alternative to surgery (results are similar to those achieved through highly invasive surgery) whilst avoiding the risks and complications associated with invasive procedures, such as anesthesia, surgical resection, sutures, and post-operative recovery in hospital.

Results are seen instantly, with a visible reduction in the hood over the eyes observed straight after the procedure. The results of Plasma Soft Surgery are long-lasting and permanent. You will still age naturally, but the results of the treatment will not be reversed over time.

What can I expect when I have my treatment?

You will be invited to an initial consultation with a Skin n Tonic Aesthetics practioner to discuss your concerns and goals. We can go over the treatment and how it will improve your hooded eyelid during your consultation. Once you are happy, we can discuss getting you in for your Fibroblast procedure. During the treatment a handheld device is moved over the hooded eyelid area and will deliver multiple shots of plasma to this area. The procedure as a whole lasts between 45-90 minutes. The Fibroblast technique is defined as “dynamic” because it allows our practitioners to ask you to open and close your eyes during the treatment.

What happens after my treatment?

You can resume any of your normal professional activities immediately after this aesthetic treatment.

The swelling starts on the following day and usually peaks on the second day. On the third or fourth day after the treatment, the swelling usually starts to subside slightly, and in most cases, the swelling will have subsided completely on the fifth day. While the swelling starts to subside, the scabs start to form to begin the healing process. At the site of each ‘dot’ created by the plasma arc, there will be a carbon crust/ scab. This crust should be left alone (but can be covered with liquid foundation if you are unhappy with their appearance to help camouflage). You will need to keep the treated area clean, dry, and protected from sun exposure or direct sources of heat for a minimum of 30 days.

Please note the scabs do not always form, however, they do in most cases. Do not pick these scabs yourself. The scabs will normally have fallen off by themselves on the sixth or seventh day after the treatment leaving you with a rejuvenated new look as a reduction in skin folds and creases appear immediately.
